Grant Writing: Surviving Strict Word Count Portals

Grant portals are notoriously unforgiving. If the limit is 1,000 characters, the 'Submit' button physically won't work at 1,001.

Expert tip: Remove 'that' and 'vague adverbs' (very, really) first. These are the easiest characters to cut without losing meaning. Use active verbs to shorten descriptions of your organization's impact.
